I am on my fiance's name right now, but I have a question about our puppy, Carbon. When Sarah calls Carbon, he comes bounding to her, but the last 2 feet or so he hunches way down to the ground with his ears down and tail down, then the sits in front of her with his ears still down. But when I call him, that is if he decides to come at all, he just walks right up with ears and tail up. Is this a dominance thing? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to dogs, that's why Sarah's the trainer and I'm not. If you can answer please do. THank you, Kenny.
But when I call him, that is if he decides to come at all, he just walks right up with ears and tail up.
I just need to note that "NEVER" call your dog if you cannot enforce the come.. ie dog is on a leash and you have access to the leash.. this will only create problems in the long run..
He's always on a leash in the house. Sarah said something about how this is good... but I do make him come to me and reward him, he just doesn't seem to care to come to me. Could he be one of those "one person" dogs I've heard of, and Sarah's his "person"?
