How do you guys usaully fix this problem, I'm taking her in for stiches but is there anything else to do? It's not too deep, it just won't heal completely.
Eeeee... uhmm wouldn't that hurt her more than help, like maybe the glue getting inside and making her sick? It's dry, the cut, but I still haven't heard of such a thing even for humans.
SuperGlue is used regulary on humans in place of stitches. It won't be a problem. Just Google "super glue cuts" and read about the benefits,if you're skeptical.
You will find that the vet cannot/wont sew a pad cut.
I can tell you what us hunters use. Its a product called EMT Gel. Amazing stuff. You have to thoroughly cleanse the area 1st w/betadyne, saline, anti bacterial soap. Then apply the gel then a loose wrap. Will heal in a few days.
Unless youre vets a hunter, hes probably not heard of it. Its online on at Basspro. Ive been through this with mine. Not only for pad cuts. Can save a dogs life.
A quick web search shows it for about $12-15 for a small, one ounce tube.
When my dog had a cut on his paw pad, I asked the vet about stitches. She said that area doesn't stitch very well and that the wound really needed to heal from the inside out. It was a pretty nasty slice. We enforced quiet time and washed the wound 2x day with an disinfectant fluid (forgot what it was) and smeared a bit of antibiotic ointment on the cut. I kept it bandaged to keep him from licking it all day. Took about a week to heal.
Check with your vet before sealing the wound shut with super glue.
As always, medical advice recieved via the Internet is worth about what you have paid for it.
I've had multiple cut pads on my SAR dogs. Clean it up, stop the bleeding with pressure, super glue the edges together, light dressing and a dog boot over that foot to keep it some what clean and dry. Works great on humans also.

The wound, if it has not healed in a week, might need vet help. It might have some infection. On the internet we have no idea. If it isn't healing clean and dry or if there's redness or swelling, you need a vet. After a week, none of the things we can suggest for a new cut are helpful, IMO.
