When I am working on OB training with my 9 mo old GSD, it seems to me that he is not "into" it. He looks around and although he does what is asked, he doesn't have the ears up or the tail wagging. Is there something I should or shouldn't be doing to get him excited or more "into" it?
Try acting like a little kid, make high-pitched noises, etc. There was a similar topic here a while ago, I think the basic concept was "don't be a limp noodle".
Terry, There is a lot that could be going on here. It could be anything from to many distractions where you are training, handler error, dog may not have enough prey drive (i would like to think this is not the case), to wrong prey item. can you give us some more info like where you train at, kinda prey work you do, prey item you use. Also have you done any training to build his prey drive?
