With regards to wolfdogs, I absolutely don't agree with breeding them intentionally. There's too many wolfy looking breeds to need to have one. And I've said it before, but I'll say it again, if anyone has a quarter Malinois, quarter GSD, and a half Malamute that no one wants, I'll take it off their hands! I guess that would be a Alaskan German Belgian Mal Mal Shepherd?
But sometimes people have to have rescues for them for all the idiots out there who think they need one and if they keep them neutered/spayed, leashed and in control at all times in public, and well contained, well, whatever, that's cool.
However, I ran into a guy on the hiking trails today again who had a GSD/wolfdog I'd seen before. Well, technically, I ran into his wolfdog about 3 minutes before I saw him, who was chattering on his cell phone. He was headed on the other way out of the trail (the opposite way as me), but when he passed my dogs and another lady's dogs, the wolfdog decided we would be a better pack to follow. Well, this guy finally gets off the phone and walks along to try to catch his dog. I tell him that as a bit of friendly advice, one should not let wolfdogs offleash. He's like "Why not? He's friendly!" *thunks head on desk* I told him it was because they have terrible recall. Even if my husky/Rott mix was the most dog friendly dog in the world, I wouldn't let him off leash as he, true to the husky breed, also has poor recall. He says "Well...Wolfgang usually is pretty good." Right, and that's why I found him wandering around the backtrails about a month ago with my dogs and that's why he followed me and my dogs about half a mile to the creek ignoring his owner today. It's hard not to be smug sometimes and not give the "told ya so..." look when he finally caught his dog. I should have just told him put the dog on a long line walking in the woods and that gets quite a bit of exercise too, which is exactly what I do with my husky/Rott.

Pity you aren't closer to me, I have just that combination sleeping in her crate next to me right now , half Malinois half Malamute, all drive and being 5 months old, no fear .
Here's a link to her pic..

What a pretty young lady! Yes, she definitely has that Malinois intent look in her eyes like "must...chase...something..." and lean look in her face like a Malinois. I'm sure she'll grow into those satellite dishes, err...ears just fine. I would like her, but I've told myself no more puppies! If she's still around in a year or so, let me know!

Looks like she helps out with a husky rescue based on her signature, which is awesome because we always seem to have one or more huskies or husky mixes at the shelter I volunteer at. I don't do rescue, but I am the one that always seems to go work with the big huskies, GSDs, Rotts, etc that no one else wants to walk! In fact, I'm headed there now after I get done posting.

She's available for adoption through my rescue , she's my foster dog, my own pack is big enough!
I'm having a difficult time finding a qualified home for her since her drives are off the charts, but she's content to be here.
