Hi all,
I am switching my dog's food from Pro Plan to Innova Evo. Eventually I want to go completely raw. In the past I've gradually mixed two different foods together. Should I switch him over abruptly and have the canned pumpkin on stand-by or switch gradually? Thanks.
I have just switched from raw to Innova Evo for vacation purposes and had no problem whatsoever (cold-turkey switch). I did, however, add pumpkin to each meal of Innova for about 1-1/2 weeks just in case - I didn't want to wait to see IF there was a problem. In your case, I would most probably feed one meal Innova Evo and the second meal Pro Plan and then gradually increase Innova and decrease Pro Plan. I would also add pumpkin to the Innova. Just my opinion.
I used a heaping tablespoon. I want to emphasize that I made the switch from all raw to Innova and not Innova to all raw. I will go back to all raw in a month or so. When you do decide to switch to all raw, make sure you do your homework because there are a few important differences in the switch.
