Hello. Haven't been on here in a while. Nice to see some more dobe lovers out there. I am a novice dobe owner. I got my pup from Legard Dobermans out of Oakman, AL. When I got her, she was skinny (I could see all of her ribs) and she also had some little dots of missing hair all over her. It reminded me of a dog that has a LOT of mosquito bites or biting flies has been at it. I haven't taken her to the vet yet, still trying to get it scheduled through our Base vet. I live in Alaska so... it is a bit remote here where we are.

well i doubt its color mutant alopecia. more then likely it was flea bites or mosquitos depends where she was housed at before or if the pup was layin con concret that might have affected the skin to where it had hair loss start off right feeding put some lanitone on the food wash her really good and brush her off really good and give it a couple of days she might have a skin infection make sure thats the first thing u point out to the vet get her in antibiotics and as for her being skinny its common with dobies your just gonna have to wait and see if she puts on weight what i usally do when i get a new pup is mixed her rugular dry food with cooked ground beef for a month or 2 till they put on the right weight but dont get them 2 fat and make sure the pups wormed and get the pup some good vitamins and some nutrical so that is she has a skin infection coat the pills in nutrical and they swallow them down quick
No! I bought a pup from her for a companion pup. She didn't crop the ears for some reason. She claimed that it was because I requested them natural which is untrue... I am not pleased with this breeder. The pup is on a natural diet now and it's been a week. She still has not adjusted. She has put on a little bit of weight. I can see the last two ribs. I'm okay with that...
