I believe Jean Claude just leased out his place and is getting out of dog sport. Er, at least thats word on the street. We're about a 5 minute drive from his facility. There are a lot of great J.C. stories <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

When I saw this old semi rejuvenated thread I noticed the last post said he moved to Idaho. I checked his website and found out he lives 20 minutes from me. I set a appointment to meet with him.
Well, I'm glad something good came out of resurrecting this thing.
My husband trained with Jean Claude in the 80s, in California. He figured by now that Jean Claude was either retired or dead, because he wasn't exactly a "young man" back then.
We were shocked to hear through the grapevine that he was still alive and kicking in Idaho.
I plan a trip later in the year, as well. Negotiating with the Veterans Affairs to find out if they'll pay for his course.

You better check with him first or I can ask him if you want me to. He was a little difficult for me to understand over the phone due to his strong French accent.
I think he said he was retired and was now only training now for occasional fun. He told me he wasn't set up for training but he didn't have to be to put on a sleeve. I was questioning him about doing some bitework with my male Dutchie.
His website indicates he is still interested in training. So, I don't know where is head is at. Apparently he's only been here a few months.
I also picked up on that VA approved stuff. That could be interesting.
I'll let the hubby and Jean Claude do the negotiating. They go back a ways, my husband bought a couple of dogs from him back in the day. Pretty much everything my husband knows, he learned from Jean Claude.
If you thought the french accent was bad, you should hear him revert entirely to french profanity, when he gets angry, says my husband.
