I need help/advice
I have a 6 month old German shepherd. Today,we decided to keep him in the outside kennel, all day.
He had water, food, roof, rubber-flooring.
When I took him out, his rear legs kinda gave-up, he could not walk. I have also noticed that it is almost it hurts him to put his rear feet down. What is it?:???????
He can walk, but is VERY tenative, almost like unsured as to how to put his feet down.
He has appetite, does not yelp or whine or anything like that.
PLEASE help!!!!!!!!!

I would take him to the Vet immediately.
God gave you 2 eyes, 2 ears and 1 mouth. You should look and listen twice as much before you speak. |

I found the following information on this web site.
http://siriusdog.com/pano.htm
Pano is the inflammation of the membrane surrounding the long bones in the legs of adolescent pups. It is very common in larger breeds, and the only way to accurately diagnose it is with x-rays. Onset can be from 5 to12 months (occasionally later) and last until 18 months or more. Though it is uncomfortable for the puppy, he almost always grows out of it within a month or two. The lameness is not necessarily be limited to one leg, and this can be easily noticed as the limping seems to shift from one leg one day to another the following day. There is no cure as such for pano, but the disease will disappear more quickly is the puppy's weight is kept low, exercise is limited and the puppy is switched to adult formula dog food.
Panosteitis, also known under the name of "puppy limp", "growing pains", "long bone disease", "shifting leg lameness" or simply "pano".

Enforced rest is usually prescribed. Painkillers are contraindicated since the pup will play more without pain, and may exacerbate the condition.
From the same website, I thought that would be some useful information to go along with the above mentioned. I would still seek the advise of a vet, just to be on the safe side.

Update: puppy is at the vet right now. They will do blood as well as urine exam. Also, they will take X-rays for pano, and hips.
They did notice a slight fever.
However his appetite is still the same
He is only 6.5 months, I am SOOO worried <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

Could he have eaten/licked something that might be poiseness? Could someone have thrown something into the kennel?
The symptoms seem rather sudden and extreme to be pano. Posibble , yes, but it would not be the first thing I would think of.
Has your dog been vaccinated recently? My vet had a young pup come in with some paralysis that happened shortly after vaccinations. With homeopathic treatment the pup did recover.
I suppose it could also be a pulled muscle or something. Is the dog /pup usually active in the kennel?

The floor in the kennel is made out of bricks, and on top of that rubber-mats, about 1/2 or 3/4 inch thick.
There is nothing in the kennel that he could have eaten. My neighboors are very nice, retired people, I REALLY doubt them poisoning him.
I did check his pads, they to me seem to be fine.
I am waiting for results from X-rays and blood and urine.
I am really really upset.

UPDATE:
Just got off the phone with my vet.
He says that his hips look clean. What appears to be the problem is his knee. Somehow it got either injured or strained. I have NO idea how or what may have caused this.( any ideas, suggestions are appreciated)
He also found urinary infection, but they will provide some medication for that.
