Finish a drug class and start an explosives class. Seems the thing to do. Monday, October 2, we start an explosives class. It's bad time as far as the year goes. We probably won't finish until after the first of the year. The good thing, the handlers are all return handlers, should help the class go rather smooth.

Another good thing. It's going to be cool outside so the dogs can work longer. Have fun.

longer but harder...
cold weather will give you more working time but will make it harderd on the dogs to find since the oder is released much slower.
im sure you guys know it so this is more for those of us who don't...

Finishing a detector clas w/ 10 this week. Whew!!! Nice to be getting near the finish line.....downside is I start a patrol dog class in a week. My back already hurts!
Kevin, I was attending a seminar this past week with an LT from Wisconsin HP. He told me you were training him five, if memory serves me. I know it's a good feeling to finish a class, almost as good as starting one.

Yep, they are half the students. It is a new program for them and I am having a great time working with some some really excited new handlers. It is great to see motivated people and even better to work with them.

Kevin,
I am friends with a Sgt. w/ the HP here in Wisconsin. He told me that the Wis. HP was getting detector dogs. Told me they were out training in N. Mexico. I automatically thought that they would be out there with you. So I will have to tell him that I was right! One dog will be coming to the area that I live.
Nothing big, just thought I would share. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
