was just talking to a German shepherds owner that gives his dog a coconuts to play with and eat. He stated "that the milk is good for the coat and skin and the shell -hair on shell is good for the teeth". He stated "his vet told him that it was great for the dogs". Also said it helps dry up the poop! HAs anyone used coconuts or are they even good for them?
I've had dogs that enjoyed a little coconut milk when I was willing to share some but I don't know whether or not it's actually good for coat and skin. I'd be interested to know also. But, I'd be leary of giving a whole coconut to a dog. The shells are awfully hard, isn't there a reasonable chance they might break a dog's teeth? Maybe if you're lucky enough to be able to get fresh picked ones it would be different?
