Have been hearing more and more bad things about dogs that just had a rabies shot. I would be a little cautious here.
Too bad there cant be some large study done on dogs that got NO VACCINATIONS to see how many dogs really did get sick. Then half the control should be on a raw diet.

The rabies vaccine seems to knock the stuffing out of both dogs and cats. My personal experience with my cats is they sleep for 2 days and refuse all food...not a good sign! Since they are indoor cats they won't be getting another one.
My pup is now due for his 1st rabies and I'm frankly dreading it. However, we do have rabies in the area (skunks and fox carriers)and it is the law here so there is probably no getting around it. I will do titres after this and see if I can avoid ever giving another vaccine.
Do any areas have the option of a titer in lieu of an inoculation? I think I read something to that effect but I'm not sure if it's yearly titer and mandatory vaccines every three years or if a titer can truly be used instead of yet another vaccine. With my ferret, I finally stopped *all* vaccinations and I don't think she missed them though I do wish I had stopped them earlier. Of course, it's slightly easier to fly under the radar with a fuzz than with a big dog.
