I was wondering if yall could help me out my male Gsd of 2 years of age has a sort of rash or wound. I saw it one morning when i was feeding it it had a small sort of scrape behind its ear i didn't pay much attention to it just washed it out and then applied a little of wound cream (Antimicrobial) that i bought at the pet store. By the next morning the scrape had come down to the side of his neck like he had been scraching or trying to chew at it because it was moist like with saliva. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> He sort of scraches at it from time to time and I'm afraid it will make it worse or he will extend it even further he does not have fleas or ticks either any remidies that will help to heal and help with the scraching. Thanks
I always do as you did and initially clean out wounds and put Neosporin on them.
BUT if the wound not only doesn't improve, but gets worse, I run off to the vet. May be infected and need oral antibiotics, or be a fungus, or allergy, or a bug bite (spider? etc.), or ....................
Rather spend the money of the vet at the front end, and get an easy fix, than the back end with the additional expense cause I waited.
