Oh you know people are going take and abuse this med, I got a nightmare vision of my wife taking the minivan to the crappy part of town to score some "woofies"
It's a DOG for crying out loud... WE control their food! Feed them less!!! LOL.
Personally, my ACD will happily eat a reasonable portion of food at a sitting (he's a puppy so he gets fed multiple times per day). He'd also JUST as happily consume two or three times that reasonable portion at a sitting... I just don't let him. And so he isn't fat.
Why on earth would someone SPEND money on a dog when they could just as easily SAVE money by simply cutting back the food. To those people I say "here's your sign"...
My last dog was an 80 lb GSD female. She should have been 75, but even with 2 miles/day beside my bike, and as little as 2 cups of DIET kibble a day, for 8 years I could not get the extra weight off her. Then I switched her to raw, and it came off without even trying. I have no problem at all keeping my current raw-fed dog and cat at their ideal weight.
Yet another anecdotal reason to stay away from that nasty dried stuff. It's the McDonalds of pet food.
