Hello,
I'm going to try this posting with photobucket - hope it works! Here is a picture of me with Nickie last Saturday at Lake Mead. We took him there to get more socialized (he was 19 weeks old last weekend). The other picture was taken when he was 11 weeks old. He is a bullmastiff/pitbull mix and we have had him since he was 8 weeks old. http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t143/nickie5143/
What an adorable baby, I just want to squeeze and kiss him
Best of luck raising the little guy. I hope you take plenty of pictures and enjoy the baby-ness while it lasts! They grow up so quickly, it's almost sad... hehe
Hi Yuko,
Yes, we are enjoying him - some days are better than others! I'm learning a lot from reading this board from the past few weeks - have the first two recommended DVDs from Ed. I've added some more pictures to my album - please take a look! http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t143/nickie5143/
Hi Sandy,
Yes, he IS as strong as an ox. Just started him this week with the prong collar on our walks - he was pulling my arm off before on just the flat collar. Now he "self-corrects" himself and walks very nicely - we walk about 4 blocks in the neighborhood each morning before I leave for work. My husband works grave shift so he gets home about 40 minutes after I leave - Nickie is crated all day and taken out by hubby about 3 or 4 times during the day for potty breaks, etc. I've been teaching him (Nickie) sit, down, & also he will retrieve anything back to me and sit until I throw it again.
Here are more pictures from his album. http://s159.photobucket.com/albums/t143/nickie5143/
Hi Diane,
I'm in Las Vegas too, adorable little guy , keep doing obedience with him, 2 strong breeds together= a pretty strong minded dog.
Enjoy the puppy stage!
Angelique
Hi Angelique - Yes, I've been reading lots of your posts and see that you are also from Las Vegas. I know that Nickie needs to be socialized around other dogs sooner rather than later (so far, he has only been up close to one dog since he left his littermates at 8 weeks old (it was a positive experience out at Lake Mead). I keep thinking about what Ed says on the DVDs about one bad experience with an aggressive dog and the puppy will be dog-aggressive the rest of his life. Any suggestions on where we can take him to inter-act with other calm dogs?
