It does say that you should keep images under 35K, mine's even smaller than that and I'm looking for one that will work even smaller.
It's really nice to have a fuzzy face to go with the names and mountains of text, but i think if they're too big it will make the reading too difficult (also uses a lot of bandwith, me thinks).
I really got it from Yuko
Dennis your picture might be too big for signature. But yes you can do a picture Has to be 35k.
Also Dennis is that you on the photo cause I always pictured you looking like you avatar, heehee

You can just resize the picture to make it smaller
Yeah, I know, but I meant finding one that is more horizontal than vertical, thereby taking up less "visual" space not K space.
I wanted to point out the size limit in pics because, while I love the idea of posting images, I think we could all lose the priviledge if we start going nuts with big pics!

OK I fixed it, I picked a smaller one, no that isn't me in the photos. I shall remain a mystery
To answer the question on whether this is allowed, I checked with Ed before going ahead with my signature image.
He says he doesn't care as long as we figure it out for ourselves and don't start involving him in uploading and posting pics
Yes, it's considered a general rule of internet etiquette to keep signature images small vertically so that people don't have to do a lot of extra scrolling. If the image is long horizontally it's more visually pleasing not to mention that it doesn't cause the annoyance of taking up too much of the page and forcing people to scroll 10 times more than they would normally have to. Hehe.
Amber I love that pic of Carbon! He's growing so handsomely, you must be a proud mother
It might be a little big height-wise for a signature image, but as long as everyone else doesn't start using tall images it shouldn't be much of a problem, lol.
Personally I love that people are using signature images. Adds a lot of visual interest to the board, especially with the fun pics like the one Dennis is using!
