Martin Webboard User Reg: 09-14-2005 Posts: 587 Loc: Ontario, Canada Offline	Hi Mark, Table training, as it relates to defense, basically details fastening a dog to a table or similar platform and stressing the dog so much to the point where the dog bites. It is meant to bring out.. no that's inacurate... to FORCE out defensive actions from the dog. You won't get a very warm reception to table training here; and I'm on board with that opinion. It is a cruel technique/tactic to make a dog act defensively. If you want a solid protection dog that is capable of defensive work then table training is not nesseccary. If you feel that table training is required to force out defense then you should consider a different PP dog prospect because the dog that requires table training to bring out defense does not have a solid enough temperament to do the work. I have never used table training but I imagine that any PP dog produced through these methods will be unreliable. I say that because the dog's instinct to run will still overwhelm its desire to fight; and a desire to fight the helper is the goal of defensive and fight drive training
