thats all, dont wory iwont keep correspondence with my self any longer.
well if its your first detector dog iwill recomanded you start with drug searching its much easier to begin with: you can have agresive indication which make training much easier for you and the dog, plus you dont need the saftey distance which mean you need less the abielty to send your dog far plus its less dengerus and if you do amistake its dont imedietly kill someone it gives you abit more room to make mistakes and live to learn from it.
there are more than afew ways to start the imprint of the scents
which should be apply by the handler and dog.
ithink without knowing you or your dogs and guessing you want drug search for ahobbie more than operative abilety you better start with what is known as "secondary imprint" (free transletion) thats means that you add the drug to the toy and let the dog find the toy till he relate it to the scent than hide just the scent and threw the toy as reward while the dog snif the drug. thats only if your dog allready got very strong drive for his toy and allready know to search it and has good endurance in his searchs and on the toy (the dog will stay on the toy after the find even if he cant reach it with hes mouth and try get it intensintly with no giving up.
DONT EVER LET THE DOG CATCH THE DUG/ EXPLOSIVES IN HES MOUTH~~!!!
IJUST WNTED TO GIVE YOU THE IDEA YOU BETTER DONT START IT BASE ONLY ON WHAT IWROTE~~~!!!!!
iknow that Leerburg have advd on drug search. althou ihave to admit ididnt hade the opertunity to watched it yet iheard from alot of pros its agood one iwhould start from there.
you better find yourself agood trainer to work with too if you seriuss about it (if you dont better just train on coffe or spices and leave narc and exp alone)
for the imprint and for the hides - the hides buildes the dog in the advance stages as in the begining.
agood hider is worth like agood helper in bite work.
you will ovcourse need the drug and or/ substences idont know how is it in usa but here its requier some deal of biro
tell me if you need farther help
good luck!!!
