Super glue is an old groomers trick, and I have seen many groomers use it on nicks. I have seen inexperienced groomers slice dogs by trying to scissor out ear matts (poodles, cockers, etc.), but actually cutting off the ear plus trying to super glue it back on takes the cake. Wow.
Do you know that "pet grooming" is one of the most popular job training in womans' prison? Humm I always wonder when I pass dog groomers at petsmart what there back grounds are...
Holy Sh*t! That is unbelievable. My mom had a poodle/shih tzu mix and once when she went to the groomer, she came back with dozens of nicks all over her(primarily her belly) my mom called the groomer and complained then the next time the dog needed to be groomed, my mom took her somewhere else. If the dogs ear had ever been cut off and superglued back on... wow that's it, wow. Some people's kids, ya know.

That is interesting about dog grooming being popular in women's prisons. I can sure understand it, though. By the way, groomers in places like Petco & Petsmart are usually just getting started in the biz. People are much better off going to the smaller independent shops.

Groomers at PetCo and PetSmart are usually kids...some may be genuinely interested in dogs and grooming but most look like they are there to pick up a paycheck.
A client's dog had his eyes burned during a grooming at PetSmart. Our doc guessed the hot dryer was blasting this poor little thing in the face so that his eyes were severely ulcerated. It was the worst case he'd seen in 30 years of practicing medicine.
I agree with trying to find a smaller, reputable groomer.
