My wife absolutely is discusted by it. She understands it and supports it but doesn't like it. Anka looks great and I can't imagine feeding her differently. At feeding we are doing 60% chicken quarters and 40% honest kitchen. It seems to be working very well.
The only problem is my wife says Anka smells like raw chicken. While I don't smell Anka the wife swears she does. Now I do know Anka gets it on her especially if I don't 3rd it up.
Any suggestions? I think she smells much better than normal dog. I guess this is normal.

New one to me.
After many raw-fed dogs (and experiencing their odors before switching adopted ones), I gotta say I have never smelled a "raw chicken" odor on a dog.
After feeding raw for about 8 yrs. and going through a ton or two of chicken, I've never noticed any odd or objectionable smell. And my wife would point it out if there was one. Now, salmon oil - that's another issue.
Could it be something in the THK, especially if it's about half your diet? I've never used it, so I have no idea what it smells like.
I also feed a dehydrated mix with raw meat. There is definately a distinctive odor to the mix when adding water to rehyrate it before adding the meat. Maybe that is what she is smelling? I have never noticed a residual smell from the food on my dog though...?
Well my neighbor says they smell better than dogs normally do. He does not smell anything funky. Anka is now 100% out doors so it shouldn't be much of a problem any ways. I also picked up a used frig last night so the stuff doesn't even have to come in the house. Maybe that will make life better.
