I did a search for "K-9 Kraving" and the last post that mentioned it was in 2005. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with this raw food and how their dogs did while they were on it. It is available in my area and I have plenty of freezer space and thought it might be the way for me to go???
Any and all information will be greatly appreciated!!
I emailed them for some more information. I will post it when I get it. I just skimmed the site really, so I may have missed some of the answers.
The article on carrots was interesting as was the "What is in Pet Food" Article.
Both of our elder dogs passed away before I ever found the Leerburg site and I never even heard of feeding raw until finding the Leerburg site. We should be getting our new GSD puppy the 1st or second week in July depending on when she is born, the breeder is expecting them to be born about May 7th.
I just want to do things as best I can for our new family addition and nutrition was something I wanted to start my research on BEFORE the puppy gets here.
I will also use THK as a backup but K-9 Kraving is made in Baltimore and some of the area stores carry it (I live in northern Virginia). I have not been able to find anything "wrong" with K-9 Kraving yet and was wondering if any had experience with it or knew something about it that would make me search in a different direction.
It has been a long time since we have had a puppy, trying to get my ducks in a row! Have been watching a few of Ed's videos and just made another order last night for another video and some equipment. I have also been interviewing trainers, I found two that I like so far and may end up using both of them until I get to know them better. I know enough to know that good breeding, proper socialization, training and nutrition will create a great family campanion. But I do not know enough to know which is the great nutrition, good breeders (We decided to go with "Candle Hill Shepherds" in Idaho. Elizabeth Kohl seemed very honest and forthcoming with information even when something bad happened to one of her dogs. It was obvious that she cared for her dogs and I guess that is half the battle. We are getting a female out of Imo and Bree http://www.candlehillshepherds.com/ourMales/Imo/imoPedigree.htmlhttp://www.candlehillshepherds.com/ourFemales/Bree/breePedigree.html ) and trainers.
Thanks for your response and I look forward to seeing what you get from them about your email. Also, ANY suggestions you or anyone else has is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim
PS That was the link that I went to, sorry about the long post!

Have not heard anything back yet. However, if I was not feeding THK and was just starting out, I would probably try this product.
I think that he has good info on his site, easy to follow and it is nicely laid out. (not that I buy because the site is nice, but it helps to have a site that you do not get lost in)
Also, if it is close to you, you can just buy a couple to try out also. Absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.
I think it is great that you are researching before your pup gets to you. That is what I am doing now also, since I have never started a pup on raw and want to make sure all of my ducks are in a row (or chickens or rabbits) before I set the first meal down.
Keep us posted...and you are in the right place for information and advice......

I know people that use k9 Kraving & have for quite some time & are very happy with it. I know someone in the Albany, NY area that is a distributor for the food. I don't know if you contacted the company in MD for any further info on their products or a distributor in your area. If you have no luck in getting the info let me know by PM & I will see what I can find out from my friend in Albany.
