If it's a PPD, how did it far against the decoy that you took to test the dog?
You did take a decoy ( unknown to the dog ) along to test the dog before you bought it, right?
Enrique he is gorgeous, and looks pretty impressive.Like Will said as long as you are happy with him that's what matters and by the looks of him ,looks alone will take care of any dirt bags that might want to approach your car or home.Just make sure for your own interest that you do a test on how intense and courageous he is in a fight, you want to make sure he won't beat you to the back door if sh.t happens...
Congrats, I like him so far...very nice stud..
I would hope that anyone that payed a significant amount of cash for a trained PPD would test the dog themselves or hire a knowledgable third party to test the dog under real world conditions.
Buyers that fail to do this or allow the vendor to test the dog for them basically set themselves up for a heartbreak.
You know we have seen it over and over again, and it never matters how many times in our club guys(mostly law enforcement guys) that gave that same advice ,the amount of people who will buy the dogs regardless!
I think for the most part they will never see for themselves really what kind of PPD they really have, and thank god but for the ones who may rely on their PPD it's a bit tragic..
Enrique I am not saying you are one of those people, just responding to Will...
Guys, Ive been trying doing it the right way. The dog is in Czech Republic but will be going to Arizona. I will go there and do my best to see what kind of dog he is. I'm not an expert by any means nor I want to be pretentious about it.
I just want a dog that protects and finally I've decided. This was based on the reputation of the breeder (we all know who he is) and his track record. I've asked people here for help, but either they didn't have any dogs available or I didn't feel comfortable.
I "hope", and I mean hope everything turns out to be good. I hope because like I said, I'm no expert and I'm new at this game. I'm very enthusiastic but naive. I do not have any contacts either. If it doean't pan out, oh well, it's not the end of the world. I'll learn for the next time. If having a bad dog is the worst thing that can happen in my life, then I'll be doing ok. (as long as nobody is trying to hurt me ).
By the way, also his pedigree is impressive: son of Xant z Jrkova Dvora, grandson of Dargo Ha-Ja-Da, great grandson of Grim z PS and Gero Blatschenko zamku (sp?). On the dam's side you can find Cordon An Sant. Thoughts?
Enrique, I saw Chasinta's video (as well as Brutus'). Is there any reason you have chosen another dog as a PPD instead of training Chasinta all the way through? She's impressive with a lot of drive, looks powerful, quick and fearless. Just curious.
Chasinta is awesome. She will protect for real, she's ZVV1 and with an insane drive. Problem is she will turn 8 in November. Just want to be ready for when the time comes and she passes away. She won't live forever. I believe I saved that dog. She was 95 lbs!, yeast infecion in her ears and really bad teeth from kibble. Now that she eats raw she weighs 77 lbs, clean teeth and no ear infection. Walks twice a day, plays with ball and does bite work on Sundays. Maybe I don't want to put a lot of pressure on her. She's not ancient but not a spring chicken either .
