Just got back from several hours of training in the Florida sun. Gets kind of hot down here, don't you know.
For most of the morning my TD was out in the center of the field without shade working with one member after another.
In addition, he is always available by phone or email, has lent me videos and have given me moral support when I needed it.
When I try to thank him, he says he is just paying back, that people were there for him when he started and he enjoys working with people that want to learn.
After we left I realized that his dog hadn't gotten out of the car, he was too busy with us. Not the first time this has happened, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last.
I've learned more about dogs from Will than everything and everybody else combined. When i got my first real drivey dog we were on the phone a lot! thanks from here too Will,
AL
P.S. Hope the weasel is doing good Betty!
I'm always glad to train guests, if ya'll are in my area on a Sat. morning and afternoon, send me a PM ahead of time and we'll have some fun!
We have a bunch of *great* dogs and handlers in my club, it's worth a visit. And it's a good cardio-vascular work out for the handlers with me yelling for everyone to "WALK FASTER!!!"
Will, I guess now that I'v moved away from the club there is more training happening on Saturday mornings. Will and I get together on Saturday mornings and all the military and war stories come out, and we have, or I should say now, they have other members also who were prior service. We definately needed to build a club house out there for after training talk. We even use to try to get there 2hrs early so we could get all the chatting out of the way by training time. Hey it was all good times though, and when we trained we trained hard. Excellent training going on out there, alot of knowledge in that club.
Man, Chris, we miss you badly as a decoy, you were very durable!! Not to mention your total lack of fear, and we put you in some scary situations back then.....
