this site has been around forever. It's actually kind of amusing they way they talk about their "research".
If this person doesn't want to feed raw, who cares? Hopefully most folks don't just take their word, or my word or anyone elses on how to properly care for their dogs. Everyone needs to do their own research and make choices based on something other than scare tactics.
I personally think the way they present their very uneducated and narrow minded opinions make me question their credibility on any topic.

You're right on the dot! He keeps on talking about his "research" and cannot present a single, solid, empirical datum that supports his counter-claims. He presents isolated, unverifiable instances on how a raw diet harmed a lot of pets. He likewise states that wolves have a lifespan of 6-7 years, implying that it is due to a raw diet...how wreckless and unscientific can you get!

I have a wolf sanctuary, and the truth is that wild-born wolves taken into captivity are typically malnourished.
Perhaps because they're abandoned?
Research aside, so much of what she says isn't even a correctly assembled argument. Burden of proof misplaced here, insane correlations there...
You don't even need any special knowledge or research to recognize that almost any given sentence of hers is:
-Inherently unable to be substantiated
-Has to be heavily qualified for context.
Ridiculous woman.
Don't even bother.

I've spent a couple of hours reading through that site and there is some interesting info, but a lot of it also seems like total BS. One of the links on this page, takes you to how to select ther perfect food for your breed of dog, but it's all the same scripture, with the exception of your dog breed of course! http://home.att.net/~wdcusick/free.html
Another thing, I noticed repeatedly was the high fat content in raw meat, and it's link to dogs dying of pancreatis? What do you all think of that? I'm new to BARF and want to learn as much as possible.

I agree that one must do their own research and do what is best from what they learn. I have done both. I know of dogs that eat only dry food, they have done just fine, I see dogs on raw, if done right they do fine. I find that in the wild dogs and other animals eat the soft stomach area first and then knaw on everything else, I think its almost impossible for humans to give an animal exactly what they would eat in the wild. Depending on the time of year an animal will eat very minimal. The choices of what to eat are what they can catch and kill, might be a rabbit, mouse, or just plain grass. I don't believe there is a big difference of benifits either way. This debate is almost religious, those that are'nt sure will argue as if to change would mean death, others will allow each their opinion knowing it does'nt affect them in the least. I'm anxious to see how this debate turns out. Lance

Lance, I agree with everything you say. Would just like to add one point.
With raw, BARF, RMB, etc you know more of what you are getting than with dry. I know there are things used in the cheap meat I use that I would rather not be there. Those are minimal compared to what you don't know or understand is in dry.
That was our deciding factor, to know more of what is in the food we are feeding.
