There is a decent amount of info about this breed on the web and here just look on the left of this page and you will see the Search function and type "Cane Corso"

Michael is right! You will usually find better answers searching old posts than getting shorter answers from people who have posted on the same question. Why the breed question?

I'm proud to say that I am a member of CCAA, Cane Corso American Assoication, the former ICCF (International Cane Corso Fedral.)
I don't own this particular dog, but I have stuided the breed since 2000. I've been going to the ARBA and IABC shows to meet people and cc. I joined the club since Jan 2007.
I'm more than happy to answer any questions that you want to know about them. I've considered try this breed out for schutzhund, however, it might take more work than GSD or Malli. People I know from the Arizona Schutzhund Club encouraged me to try another breed because they don't think I can handle 100+ pounds and cc takes more time to train. I'm not disappointed in what they said because I do agree.
I'm sad to say that Waylon, a cane corso, died sometimes this year, he was the only cane corso who had a title up to SchH II, AD.
I don't think his owners get a chance to breed him to Mina, TRI 1. They didn't have any litters.

Dear Ed and Will,

No, the link's fine - in fact I posted it myself when I found out that they had managed to title a Canie, my hat was off to them! Those folks deserved credit for their hard work.
That being said, I still find them mostly useless as both a PPD or a sport dog. There are just so many better choices to make for breeds to work that to even consider getting one is crazy in my book.
And for some reason, the vast majority ( not everyone, but 95% ) of people that are interested in one tend not to be experienced dog people - who would know better.
I could see an experienced SchH handler maybe trying one as an experiement to try and title one ( on the down side, you'd go through *a lot* of CC's to find one that could stand up to the training ) but when I read about people that think that they're getting a great PPD when buying one, I just shake my head.
A hobby dog...maybe. A serious competition dog or PPD? No way.
I call these breeds "the flavor of the moment"......

I can sort of comment on this one...I have a Boerboel, which is a molosser type dog as is the CC. She is only 6 months old right now. But here are my observations so far...
She is a great dog, has good nerve and is a great pet. BUT! She has almost no prey drive to speak of, has a little play drive, but is mostly just a food driven puppy who enjoys lounging around and being petted.
I wouldn't buy one of these dogs as a PPD or a ScH dog - although I'm sure it could be done with TONS of training. I can get her to chase a bite rag but it's pretty short lived, and she won't hang onto the rag once she bites. She's getting better, but I'm more having fun with her than anything else.
I also have a GSD, and the difference is night and day.
So, if you're looking for a large dominant pet dog and KNOW that you can handle it. No doubts in your mind. Then go for it, but if you're not sure that you can handle putting a 120 lb dog in it's place a few times then don't.

Well in my opinion, I don't think these dogs will protect you or your things unless they were trained to do. You cannot expect a cane corso to protect you or your home automatically. It does not work like that.
If I were you, I would prefer to install an alarm rather than train a dog to protect my home. They might do more than a dog can do. People can shoot your dogs and break into your house with NO problem.
I have a cane corso book from Italy that writes in Italian, but someone from the CCAA translated the book to English. You can find it out by typing in google, Cane Corso Asssociation of Amerca. They sell Cane Corso things and a few books.
