I've been going here for approx 2 years. Nothing but good honest people, great training, and good size training area. All customers are referred by word of mouth.
I attended National K9 in Columbus, Ohio. Excellent school-excellent trainers. They teach the Balanced Scale Approach. This method teaches your dog the difference betwwen right & wrong with no middle ground. Your dog obeys a command he is rewarded, if he does not he is corrected. This method helps you build a relationship with your dog and shows him his place in the family. Once he knows his place he will do what is expected of him. I took the 6 week course and am certified in Basic/Advanced obedience, puppy development, tracking, scent detection, handicap assistance, personal protection & police K9.

All that in 6 weeks? Maybe I missed something?
Sounds like a good amount of time for a overview of it all.
well i wouldn't call it training, and i am not saying that as a insult. Its just a overview. Gives you the basics of all that stuff and from there you can figure out where you really want to focus on. Hell, i wouldn't mind going to a class to get a overview of dog training that i know nothing about.
On that note i just saw that Lisa said she is "certified" can you explain how exactly you are certified and what your certified to do? Just wondering.
Mike,
Several of us have discussed previously our experiences with graduates of National K9 ( the Ohio campus ) - you might want to review those old threads before you decide to spend any money on their programs......

Will,
Yes, Connie Sutherland sent me a search link, i am by no means even considering going to this school.
Lisa said she was certified by a 6 week class in a few different things. Then i saw there was other classes you had to take before that. So that made it sound understandable.
But thats nether hear nor there. Three reputable people saying its a no-go, i will take there word for it.
