Beware!! I smell a rat. He didn't even want to know about your dogs or ask questions. Most people I know who are investigating getting a dog and see that you have loads of info on them will STILL ASK questions or want to know something about you and your dogs. Do not trust it. I was going to guess identity theft, but there not asking for much information... SSN, DOB, home phone... What did the original email say? were they asking about lines? It MIGHT be legit, but would you send your puppy over seas? Im positive this is someone from another country just by the way its written.

The scam unfolds step by step..... and they are multi-faceted: the counterfeit certified check (sometimes for too much money, and the scamee sends back the "extra" before the bank discovers the fraud and reverses the deposit); the gradual acquisition of the scamee's financial info (when the scammer says later than the certified check will be deposited directly into the bank account of the seller ... ditto with "wire transfers" .....)
