I wrote this for American workers for Labor day:
"Thank God; the Americans are here," has been exclaimed more times throughout history than any other nation can boast. America's capacity to fight evil, natural disasters, famine, and pestilence is legendary. And although the aid is often delivered by a soldier overseas or by the neighborhood police/fire here at home this aid is directly and irrefutably bestowed on humanity by the largess of the American taxpayer.
For some stupid reason many Americans consider it fashionable to criticize America and anything American because their life is free from the ravages of war, famine, pestilence, and a government that actually harms it's citizens. But to people around the world who are visited by real evil on a daily basis America is a beacon of hope that looks like a truck carrying sacks of food marked "A gift from the people of the United States of America". They may not read English, but they recognize our flag and the American laborer’s succor so this night their children won't cry themselves to sleep hungry. Other times aid is a heavily armed soldier warning evil men "You can’t harm these people; not on my watch." And always "Paid in full, by the American taxpayer."
Today is Labor Day and people like me do recognize that it’s the sweat of the American laborer that fuels the greatest nation on earth. You may never command a tank, run into burning buildings, or kick in a door to arrest a violent sexual predator, but, you provide those of us who do these things with the tools we need. Just like you honor fallen soldiers on Memorial Day and those of us who served our nation on Veterans Day; it’s our turn to salute you, the working American, without whom hope would be in short supply around the world.

The people of the USA are not the only ones to criticize the government for what they do, England has always been there in the forefront when help is needed, and they are always at the front to help disaters in Countries just as the USA does, The Same as the USA did for England in the World war 11
I cannot say the same for a country not far from us just across the English Channel they gave up from the beginning,
But nothing like a special day is ever thought of in England, We have armicst Day to commemoerate the the fallen in the last wars but nothing else,
I think President Bush is a Gentleman, in the way he conducts himself
