On todays date at 0423 hours Deputy McCormack was struck broadside while responding to an accident call north of Springfield,Missouri and died due to his injuries. Deputy McCormack was hit by a volunteer firefighter responding to the same call. He is survived by his wife and 1 year old daughter and 5 year old son. He worked for the Greene County Sheriff Department for a short 4 months.
Our hearts and prayers go out to his family and department. This is 2 counties away from where I work. Really sad situation.
