I have been messing around with the e-collar on my own neck for a bit. When putting the collar in different locations on my neck with the same stim level "level one". I get alot of different sensations, some very soft and some very hard. It seems as if the smallest movement of the contact points can cause this to happen. If I put the collar in one place it makes my nerves jolt and my neck/ears visually twitch. If I put it in another place I get a mild tingling sensation and no twitching.
Is this how all collars work? Just by taking the collar off the dog and putting on the next day could drastically change the impact of the stim due to the location of the contact points. Even though I have the collar on my dog fairly tight it still moves a little bit.
Any suggestions?

I thought I remember someone mention a contact GRID for the collars, its replaces the contact points. Has anyone ever heard of these?

I've got the dogtra 1200 2 dog collar, the grid adapter is called the SCG-LBM adapter, easier on the dogs neck too.

				Hey, thanks alot.....
I did an internet search and came up with nothing when I typed in "e collar contact grid", but your model number brought it right up for me.
What kind of dogs do you use them on? Are they heavy? I have a dog that has short/no coat under his neck.
What is the knock on these grids? Why do all the collar makers only have 2 contact points? This device seems makes so much sense.

Here's one place you can get it:
http://www.gundogsupply.com/do24copad.html
I like the sound of this, too. And if I've read this correctly you can leave the collar on longer without fear of irritating the dog's skin.

This is the first I've heard of the new contact for e-collars. I'm interested in how many experienced users have tried this device and their opinions, Pros/Cons. Are they actually safe to leave on the dog and do they actually deliver the same level of stim?

who makes this adapter? Dogtra or Tritronics? It's not clear on the website. The contacts on the adapter seem short, although it's hard to tell from the picture how they compare to the standard contacts.
