I couldn't believe what happen in Ca. I hope that Connie is ok and everyone had the time to evacuate with their pets. I would be very upset if I went to work and left my pets at home. I wouldn't care if I lost my house to the fire, but my pets.... I don't know how bearable it will be.

The amount of smoke is unbelievable. A haze seems to cover the whole lower part of the state. I live North of Santa Barbara and it is bad enough here, I can't imagine what they are going through down further south.
My sister in law and her family live in Escondido (near San Diego) and were evacuated from their house about 1 1/2 hours ago, the fire was less than a mile away. We are waiting to hear if they lose their home.
Please pray for all the people and their pets that are in danger of losing their homes.
I didn't realize how bad it is. I heard that tonight is going to be worse so is your home any close to the fire? I hope you don't have to evacuate with your pets and family. Stay safe.
I'm wondering how are they going to move all animals from San Diego zoo? Terrible, terrible.

I am not too close and in no danger. The closest one to me is about 15-20 miles. Thanks for your concern.
They have already evacuated animals from the San Diego wild animal park, so far the Zoo is OK, at least last I had heard. We will see. There have been stories of people just turning their animals loose because they don't have trailers to get them out and Qualcom park is taking the evacuees but anyone with pets are not allowed inside, so they are camping out in the parking lot.
When we drove home from my moms yesterday (she lives in Fontana, about 200 miles south) We drove under smoke for over 2 hours of our 3 1/2 hour drive and couldn't even see the sun, it was just a red circle. And it is worse now.

Just heard from my sister in law, last she heard the fire was one block from her house. She is extremely upset, they are in a church with other refugees awaiting news.

Why thanks, Sarah! Yep, I'm in Canyon Country so it's a tad bit toasty in my neck of the woods ! In fact, the fire they are calling the "Magic" fire or the Stevenson Ranch fire is in this same area!! Anyway, I'm ok, if I need to get away I have two very good routes, but really I am not in any danger. Our little place in Malibu canyon is also in good shape for now. All in all, we are very lucky this time.
