Okay, Animal Wellness Magazine time.....Great article about Raspberries and how they help fight cancer among other illnesses as well.....
An article on Probiotics and Prebiotics
AND
Recipes for:
Savory Soup with Apples and Sweet Potatoes (raw or cooked)
Finicky Feline Fish Fondue (my barn cats will love me)
Poached Fish Bits with Catnip (will love me again )
Turkey and Sweet Potato Savory Loaf (cooked)
Carob Liver Brownies (cooked)
Truffles (cooked)
They all look good as far as ingredients so if you want any of them and do not get this magazine....PM me.
(I better remember to cook us Holiday meals as well)
There is also an article "Is Raw Food Recall the Start of an FDA Witch-Hunt?"
I will read that after supper and then fire questions (at Connie YAY) I am sure.

I am reading up on that FDA thing. Bravo is just one of many threatened raw food companies.
(Several forum members have PM'd me about that; it is indeed a frightening glimpse of a new direction for the FDA. This would be the same FDA that was so useful with the terrible melamine recall.)

I use honey and molasses in small (minute compared to the overall picture) quantities and not real often. It does go into my veggie glop that I make once a month.

That was in the allergy article, right? It wasn't a recommendation for regular feeding.
I don't like feeding sugar to dogs, but I thought WDJ's local pollen suggestion was a good alternative..... and in much smaller quantities, too.

I probably would not.
I haven't read all the material I've rounded up yet on canine cancers, but so far, it appears that dogs' organ cancers are particularly fed by sugars. Simple sugars feed many cancers, of all species, and some canine cancers appear to be even more sugar-connected than human cancers.

Yeah -- it's too bad so many dogs have a big ol' sweet tooth, too, huh?
I used to think that they developed the taste for sugar from the sugars added to many kibbles ( ) or from humans giving them sweets, but I know dogs who have never had anything but fresh raw food and who will try very hard to steal any kind of dessert left around. Maybe it's just the instinct to grab ANY food that's left out.
The cancer thing is the reason why I limit produce for dogs to low-sugar items.

Above is the link to subscribe to a newsletter (free) from Animal Wellness Magazine......most of it is great, but like with all magazines and info, some I do not agree with. But the former outweighs the latter.......
