Haved moved Zeke's crate into den so he can be with us more and he is facinated with the tv. I noticed the other nioght he found his tail. Today I notice he is chewing all the hair off it. What should we try?

Are you sure he does not have an allergy or something going on?
Of course, all the "What are you feeding?" questions apply here as well......and the "Could he have gotten into anything?" ones too.....

No, he is fed raw. He just seems to be facinated by it right now. Barking at it etc. He also likes to lick up his hair around the crate.

Hmmmm....I am assuming since it is you posting that he gets enough exercise and training time......
So, here is a couple of things.....
1. It could be that his anal glands are bothering him
2. He is bored, or slightly neurotic, so you could try a treat filled kong
3. He has banged against something and injured it, and is chewing at it due to a "pain" response.....
I did a google search (tail chasing and chewing in dogs) and this is some of the things that were in different articles.

Yes, and add to that: You really do not it to get to be a habit, for several reasons. OCD is one, and hot spots are another. Breaking the skin can lead really fast to infections, too.
Can you see if there is any pruritis? Also, is it near the base of the tail? Any chance that he had a flea bite?
Is he scooting?
I would re-direct with a wonderful chewy (filled King is good) and use a topical on the spot that's being chewed to break any itch cycle, if that's what you think it might be.
No inflammation on the paws, and no scratching along the spine (or in the armpits)?
If it's just frustrated energy, you still want to redirect, but also up the training sessions, walks, etc.

I am almost positive it is frustration as he is not a very high drive Mal and have been tring to build drive with shorter intence workouts and lots of time in crate. Lately we have been out alot more and have been giving him some free time in the yard without any OB or bite training. Also now that he is in the den with us he gets frustrated with the GSD and Doberman being out and playing in front of him.

And, he does not do it when he can "watch" tv, correct?

I would NOT want that habit to become ingrained. BAD HABIT. Maybe bitter apple? Can that be on the dog's skin? If not, then something nasty but safe ... both to the skin and to be ingested in case he decides to ignore the taste and go for it....

Tail biting and self mutilation can be side effects of frustration. this can unfortunately cause big problems down the road, and become an obsessive/compulsive issue.
when you say he likes to lick up hair around the crate, do you mean on the floor? Hair that has fallen on the ground?
Floor licking, carpet licking, licking the air can all be signs of vaccinosis as can OCD.... Not sure of the vaccine status of your dog, but many behavioral issues are linked to vaccine damage. (and it will never occur to most vets that this is even a possibility)
I would try to prevent this through the suggestions of the others, but I would also not allow the other dogs to play in front of him while he is crated. That's really asking for trouble, trouble that may be hard to undo if it becomes a habit.

He oly gets a Rabies vaccine which was at around 4 months. Yes licking up the hair around the outside of crate. I know we have to try something else to keep him from seeing other dogs playing but we are trying to find ways for him to be around us more and more things. It is not very bad just that when I brushed him the other day the hair was trimmed not to the skin but shorted about 8 inches from the base of his tail. Going to try more activity, I guess less sleep for me as I get little trying to work both working dogs and a pet seperately.
