Me and my husband just found out were pregnant.
2 1/2 months good x-mas present!!
Just wondering how do I prepare my two pups for a new baby. When the baby comes home how do I introduce? Starting early so that I can do research any links or suggestions would be great. We are getting the baby room ready early with taxes so need advice.
Thanks in advance

Thanks Connie,
They helped me understand better.
We bought the baby crib today. Jewel tried to tear it up. So I put bitter apple on it. Another question Should I let them in the baby room. I might have missed it but I did not see. We just moved into a 3 bedroom and the dogs and 2 cats have the 3rd room. So Should the door stay closed or no just wondering.

The indoor invisible fences are a great thing to make it very clear to the dog that they are not welcome in that room even if the door is open and you're not watching them. They are super handy for those early morning oops I forgot to shut the door moments and for those days when you must leave the baby's door open.
I'm generally of the opinion that dogs should not be allowed to interact with children under 4 (or depending on the dog never allowed to interact with someone under 16). At my home when the neice and nephews are here the dogs go outside in their kennels. Children before that age have such limited motor control and there are just too many risks of something happening either to the dog or the children that could result in a bite, someone getting scared, or the dog getting hurt.
They do not go in my bedroom any more. They did when we had a one bedroom but now we have a 3 they have there own room. It is a 3 bedroom with a office. They have there agility course and cats toys in there bedroom and in the back yard. We have one now yeah!!!!
I also have a kid play area that is fenced off. It was like that when we bought the house. There was a pool But it is empty and we are going to fill that in. Had a bother die in drowning. So they have a lot of other areas to go. The pets room is on the other side of the house from the other 2 rooms.
My personal feeling is the dogs should not be allowed in the baby's room, even before the baby is born.
Are the dogs allowed in your bedroom at all?
Congratulations by the way!!!
I totally agree and.... Do not let your dogs touch or even play with baby's toys.
Just make sure you create a very good boundary between your dogs and your newborn baby. Also, when you bring a baby home, you want to teach your dogs that they need to give you a good space.
