If it's cured, then you will want to read the ingredients, which can range from salt, sodium nitrate (or saltpeter), nitrites, sugars, seasonings, to phosphates and ascorbates.

Yeah, I just can't eat ham for more than 5 days straight! My mom unloaded so much of the stuff on me, I didn't have a chance. I will call her and see if she thinks it was cured or not; it was a gift to my father from his work for Christmas. Who knows?...

I would think if it was a gift it was probably cured.
If you look at the ingredients on a cured ham in your grocery store, you could probably bet that there was something similar used in the ham you have in the fridge.
Come on, just a few more sandwiches......

If you do feed it, I'd freeze it and stretch it out, not feeding it every day, and I'd give vitamin C with it because it works against the possible nitrosamine production from sodium nitrites.
