I had never heard of vaccinosis until I found LB...and you know where I used to work
Vaccine reactions...Yes. But only when it occured within 24 hours of the shot. After that period of time it seems that most conventional vets can't (or won't) make the connection and chalk up the symptoms to something else.
And as an aside, I'm wondering if I've got a case of vaccinosis on my hands right now. True had his rabies last week and since then he's been itching non-stop.

After that period of time it seems that most conventional vets can't (or won't) make the connection and chalk up the symptoms to something else. It's just so unbelievable. Just how does one go through vet school for years without hearing about vaccinosis? I can't believe it. Edited to add: I DON'T believe it.
And as an aside, I'm wondering if I've got a case of vaccinosis on my hands right now. True had his rabies last week and since then he's been itching non-stop. Oh no, Sarah. Poor True! You're probably already giving him this stuff but Vit C, E, salmon oil and yogurt come to mind. We need to find that Thuja stuff. I want to give it to Lear also. It's been 16 months since Lear had his 2nd and LAST vaccination and I'm thinking the thuja will still have some detox effect. Doing an internet search, I can't find it sold anywhere. Maybe Jenni will see this and steer us toward some store, preferably one that has a name

aahhhgggggg.
vets really do shut out so much.
the 2 pups i have now, sonny is coughing, and has some nasal discharge-he didn't before he got his bordatella vaccine.
now, it could be that he was incubating it already-but i don't think so. With the cocktail they got-on top of worming, i think the vaccine made him sick.
he's doing better, but still. We can't wait until the dog is healthy before we load him up with shots, noooooo.
plus, they don't even know anything about the vaccines they try ad force on you.
When i was considering cropping capones ears, they refused to do te surgery unless he had his vaccines.
but, they were willing to give him the shots literally with in minutes of putting him under for the surgery-wtf????
even if they worked-vaccines do not go into effect that quickly.
plus, vaccines to not prevent a dog from being a carrier. So if i chose to not vaccinate, that is only a risk to my own dogs, it doesn't put others at risk, because a dog can carry a virus either way.
if i want to board my unvaccinated dogs, i should be able to, as it would only pose a risk to my own, not any one elses dog.
Silly vets.
they really do amaze me with how they will blindly follow what they have been taught, even when it makes zero sense.

He's on all that stuff, and on Hydroxazine, and nothing is helping. I don't want to sidetrack this with True's problems but thanks Sandy!
Jenni really seems to like the Garden of Life brand. She stated on the itching thread she first used Fungal Defense, then Primal Defense Ultra on her itching dog and she's had no problems since.
GNC, The Vitamin Shoppe, and Whole Foods carry Garden of Life so I'm going to check it out today.
I Googled thuja and did notice that burning thuja oil is not recommended as it's toxic.

I can't find it sold anywhere. Maybe Jenni will see this and steer us toward some store, preferably one that has a name I'm still looking for somewhere to buy the RIGHT dosage...but this is interesting in the meantime and it gives examples of doses. http://thinktwice.com/animal.htm
Jenni really seems to like the Garden of Life brand. She stated on the itching thread she first used Fungal Defense, then Primal Defense Ultra on her itching dog and she's had no problems since. Dr.Karen Becker told me to use that brand with Mia's holes in her neck from her collar. I don't know if you guys remember the pictures, but it was repulsive. You would never believe that it's the same dog if you saw her now. I stick with it b/c it was recommended by a GOOD vet. I will find the link where I bought it; maybe she sells Thuja too.

Great link. Jenni, if you do find the dosage info could you post it or PM me?
I do remember Mia's pictures and they were awful...So when you say she's a different dog that's a powerful statement to me and certainly worth trying something different.

Waited too long to edit, but needed to interject that while Pitcairn states that he used 30C on a cat w/vaccinosis, I would check any dosage w/a homeopathic vet. Homeopathy IS medicine, let's not forget, so don't go screwing around if you don't know what you're doing...more is not necessarily better.
