I placed my regular order today for more Grizzly Salmon Oil and also more Embark formula Honest Kitchen.
I'm not sure when the Europa food was added to the section where Honest Kitchen resides, but I was quite interested in what I read.
If there is an area where I think we can improve our current raw feeding program, it's expanding the variety, both in meats and random veggies. I thought the information on Europa was interesting in the veggie department - for lazy people like me. (our non-meat component generally consists of carrots, alfalfa, kelp, Grizzly salmon oil, Grand Flex for joint stuff, eggs.) Our meat sources range from chicken (lots, as it's less expensive), turkey, venison (rare, and when available as road kill).
One of our dogs gets a cup of Honest Kitchen (Turkey formula) 5 out of 7 days a week. She is perpetually thin, but not a EPI dog or anything - her and the pack get their raw meal every evening, but she gets an additional 1cup (dry - then hydrated) of Honest Kitchen in the AM. That has made all the difference in keeping her weight good, rather than too thin.
I'm just wondering if the Europa product could enhance what we're doing for some/all of our dogs. Could that replace some of the deydrated carrots? kelp? alfalfa? eggs? while adding some additional veggies that the pack is not getting today?
Or....
Anyway, just interested in some opinions on whether the Europa product could be a plus or not to our feeding program.
I think the more variety you can add to a diet the better.
I added Europa to our product line because a friend of mine with GSDs has been feeding it for a while now, and her dogs are doing fantastic on it.
I don't know why you couldn't use it in place of THK once or twice a week?
I fed the original Sojos back in the early 90's but when I got away from grains, I stopped feeding it. I was pleased to see that they added this grain free variety. We just returned from the Global Pet Expo in CA and we met the "bakers" from Sojos. I feel even better about their products now, since I met the guys who actually make all the food and treats. I think I am going to go over for a visit to the bakery/food manufacturing plant very soon. It's only about an hour from here.
