I feel so dumb right now, The prong collar has been hanging from the dog leash hooks for 2 and half years and hasnt been used once. I just don't need it with Loki and Levi was going to wear an E collar.
So this thing isnt a loop and doesnt want to become that way either
hopefully my description makes sense!!
From right to left with the prongs facing up and to the right it has the End connector piece then chain part with the two rings then another End connector piece with the links attached facing to the right
Then there is another different looking Link piece that was hanging loose hooked through the rings.
I have been messing with the thing for an hour and not getting it to work.
Am I missing a part
or am i missing my brain!
Thanks!!, I totally see the problem now,
The loose piece needs to be connected to the end connector and then to the links.
Im not sure how it came loose?
Im also not sure how to get it back in. The bent portion of the loose piece needs to go into the two loops of the end piece...
Am I missing something horribly simple and it should somehow slide in?
or do I gently use pliers to open the loops a bit in order to get it back in?
Ack!!
It reminds of those metal puzzles at coffee shops and some restaurants I hate those things!!
Squeeze the end of the prongs with your fingers and push them into the holes. Prongs can be 100% assembled and disassembled with your fingers. Thats how you put them on the dog to begin with. Ofcourse people are cheating now with those quick-release prong collars, but I've seen too many of the damn things break, so I stick to the traditional prongs.
this is a shorter length piece with the prongs on one end and a curved back edge on the other. It is a smooth curve that adds height as opposed to the flat horseshoe shape of the regular links.
The curved back part looks like it is supposed to go into the two loops on the end piece so that it can be attached to the links to make a circle.
I still feel like I am totally being dumb here lol, but I have looked at all the pictures. Im working on circling what I mean in one of the photos and I will upload it to photobucket.
Its hard to clearly explain something like this
Well ok then Im not totally retarded...I was really frustrated that I couldnt figure it out, I have used these collars before but never had this problem!
That piece was off of the collar and had been put through the dead ring I assume so as not to get lost.
It says HS-germany on it so I am assuming it is a high quality collar.
But it was also bought 15 years ago for a totally out of control ginormous badly bred lab..she couldnt stay still long enough to potty. It was barely used at all and is in perfect shape so I grabbed it from its resting place at my folks house when loki was a pup in case we needed it.
I hung it up on that hook and other than wiping it off with a duster it hasnt been moved in two years lol.
