Just ordered three puppy tapes,#120,#108,101e from ED and it will take two weeks before I get my tapes. I live overseas.
I brought home my puppy last week from the breeder at eight weeks old. She is very active chasing the ball and biting everything she can put her mouth on.
I have no experience in training a puppy. I have a six year old Malinois which i got already trained two years ago. I plan to train my new puppy to be a companion protection dog with a high possibility of breeding her.
What can my puppy and me do while I wait for the tapes? What are the do's and the don't's I should observe while waiting for the tapes.
Congrats on your new Puppy! Puppies are a lot of work! Here is two ideas for you.
1:Create train
2:House Train
That should keep you buisy long enough to get the tapes!
Do's: Encourage biting "Proper things" such as towel, rag on a string, ball on a string. Have puppy watch you work the Mal, set house boundries, pick up all wiring and small objects he can eat. Socialize with many many people, have these people feed him small treats so he learns everyone is just a joy to meet. Especially Children. Take as many pictures of your pup as you can, you will value these later.
Dont's: Take Pup to dog parks. Let pup get hurt.
