Hello,
I found this site awhile back... I do not own GS's... So I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a site, where I can get some advice? Just dog advice in general. I own Shelties, but most of the "Sheltie" sites that I have found.... if you are not a "top notch" breeder... then they think you are not worth talking to.

Stay right here, with us. This site isn't just for GSDs, it's inclusive of all breeds. It's a dog training/problem site. Tons of knowledgeable caring people here, no matter the breed of dog.
Welcome to the forum - we love Shelties too

Debbie, there are many on this site who do not own GSD's. Lots of good and useful info on training, dog behavior and nutrition, etc.
Stick around here and welcome!

Hi Debbie,
Not everyone here is a GSD owner. Lots of different breeds, big and small, are represented. I own a Lab and don't do any protection or sport work with him.
I've found LB to be amazing for general dog advice, training, health and nutrition. I couldn't recommend another site as highly as I do this one.

Dear Debbie: Don't be closed to learning here at this site. Many here do not have sheperds but have other dogs, the info you will learn here is beneficial for any dog breed.
I have found the same situation you did in looking for sites re: terriors. Now that I have been here, I just can't find a site that compares to this one, with so much help, so many articles, and such great equipment for training.
While you are looking, take time to ask some questions here.
I have been completely blessed even though my dogs are not sheperds and will not be police dogs, etc.
God bless you

I agree with everyone else. Stay here pleeeze! So little of the information you find here is really breed specific and so many of the knowledgeable forum members and moderators can give you answers to just about any question or concern you've got Plus there've got to be members experienced with shelties too.

I couldn't agree with everyone else's sentiments more. I have a Beagle, don't do any competition anything. The quality advice and knowledge of the people at this site you will not find at any breed specific site. Nutrition, training, vaccination, health issues, etc.
I tried a few Beagle specific sites and the information being given out was laughable. I'm so glad I found Leerburg!

Yes, please stay, Debbie!!!
As you can see by my signature pic below, Oscar is clearly not a shepherd (not even close! :grin but I've learned more on this forum than practically ALL the other sites out there - Leerburg is a DOG training/behavior/health forum first and foremost, and a congregation of GSD owners/lovers second (though it is that as well, for sure!)
Cheers,

So what do you do with your Shelties? Schz, French Ring, Mondio, or personal protection?
Just kidding Debbie. Welcome to Leerburg, we like canines. All shapes and forms. From the lick your hand off lap dogs to the toughest rip your arm off police service dog.
I'm reading between the lines that your a breeder? If so what are you looking for in your prodigy?
And again welcome to the site.
If my dog isn't learning, I'm doing something wrong.
