I have been a member of Schutzhund USA since 1976. For years I have advocated USA fire head judge Mark Przbylski. He is incompetent. This was painfully evident in this years sieger show. Look at the video I posted in an article I posted this morning.
It is unbelievable that Przblyski gave this years Sieger a pronounce in courage. It is unbelievable that Przbylski ignored so many regulations in judging - look at all the video on this page.
No wonder USA is loosing membership and respect. No wonder the working ability of the GSD is slowly declining. It's because of a lack of leadership in USA. You all should be ashamed of yourself. SHAME ON YOU !!!!
I've seen lotsa crappy showlines working. I've worked alot of crappy showlines too. So I didn't feel the need to watch the videos posted in other threads because I pretty much knew what I would be seeing. But I just had to watch this video since you took the time to write an entre article about just how bad it really was.
And I must say. If I had persisted with Cujo's training and not let my former trainer screw up his reaction to whips and sticks with his excessive whipping, he coulda been the next Sieger, bad hips and all! Darn, think of all the dysplastic dogs he could have produced and all the stud fees I coulda raked in
He does a really pretty focused heel though. I was expecting at the very MINIMUM to see a show-dog prance from those show dogs. They couldn't even get that right! Pathetic!

Surely Ed, you are not surprised and recognize this is not just a UScA problem but a WUSV problem, a GSDCA WDA problem AND a UScA problem. As a matter of fact, the issue of the integrity of the work in the show lines was addressed in the April issue of the SV journal by the german breed warden. Anyway, for those who are members of UScA, please consider signing the petition:
The split between show and work has been completed.
The dogs we see here are a disgrace to the working community, are inferior in character and would shame Max vom Stephanitz.
It is time to simply let the show people go their own way and pretend to have working dogs and working enthusiasts go to a simple korung and no breed show approach to breeding.
American GSD fans can then choose, work or beauty. No need to play the laughable game of the golden middle where we have pretty working dogs that are neither. Time for American's to just do their own thing and stop worrying about the WUSv and the SV and all the politics and just breed solid healthy working dogs and work them in Ring, and PP, and schutzhund, and police work and simply not worry about organizations like UScA and WDA which have become a cancer to the working dog world.
My question is: Does the owner of the winning dog actually believe he has a good dog? Or does he just want the money that comes along with having a champion showline, no matter how crappy his work is?
And on that page are pictures of some of the dogs these people have ruined. Shame on them to have such an undiscerning eye. Who would have thought that a GSD wouldn't even be able to manage a decent trot, when he has been known to have one of the most beautiful trots, if not the most beautiful, in the dog world. Ruined. Kevin is right. The split has been completed. I don't think there's any going back. Ever.
Who would have thought that the beautiful capable German Shepherd, capable to do any task asked of it, would not have been able, one day, to fulfill and take joy in that for which he was bred. Not me. I think I've lived too long.

Good point Kevin.
Sad to say but I think I agree with you on the organizations.

Last time we did that we ended up with the lovely mess known as the ASS. I disagree about throwing the baby out with the bath water! UNLESS of course Herr Raisers SV2000 works out, that might be the best yet.
