My puppy is 9 weeks old as of yesterday. I feed him at 9am, 1 and last meal at 5 and water up at 6. I wanted to feed him on my schedule as I'm not an early riser. But I'm wondering if I'm feeding his breakfast too late. So far, (and I've only had him since this weekend) he seems to scream and whine more in the morning. My brother takes him out at 6 to use the bathroom and we would like him to go back to sleep but he just doesn't seem to settle down. But in the afternoon and evening he will whine a little and then settle down. Is he whining more in the morning because he wants to play or could it be he's hungry?

I would feed him a little bit at six if not all at six and then let him go back to sleep. Mine have always slept about 2 to 3 hours after they ate. I found it would take about five more minutes to feed him but the sleep you got after feeding him was great. Thats just what I have done in the past.
