Hi everyone! I've been a member for awhile but haven't posted anything yet. I figured it was about time to introduce myself. My name is Britni. I have six permanent dogs and occasionally foster as well. All of my dogs have been rescued.
Here is a picture of me with my oldest dog, Thunder, a 5 year old German Shepherd. He was rescued from a dumpster with his siblings as a newborn.
Sammy is a 3 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel/Jack Russell mix. His mother was rescued from a locked car after her owners were arrested. She was in labor at the time. The owners never claimed her. I fostered her and eventually found homes for her and the other two puppies and kept Sammy.
Marley is a 2 ish year old Jack Russell. His owner had too many dogs and asked me to help find a home for him... we just kept him.
Scooter is a 1 year old Beagle/Sheltie/who knows what mix. At 6 weeks old, mid January, he was being kept outdoors with no shelter. He was advertised on a local radio show as "free to good home".
Juno is a 12 week old Beagle/Dachshund mix. Rescued from the same type of situation as Scooter.
And the newest member of the family... Ava. She is a 4-ish month old German Shepherd. She was being kept outdoors, allowed to run free at will. When she did go back "home" she was beaten. She had to hunt for her own food. She is still about 10 pounds underweight, but she's getting there. She's learning that she doesn't need to fear us, and she's enjoying the life of an indoor dog now.
Well, that's my long winded introduction, LOL. I look forward to getting to know everyone and being part of the forums!
I have two of my own and two fosters, I feel overwhelmed sometimes so you having six dogs and keeping them as happy and healthy as you have done, plus rescuing and fostering, WOW... great work!
