Hey everyone hope all is well. I have a question that I hope someone has already answered. I have a Malinois and a Jeep Wrangler with a soft top. Has anyone put a crate in the back of there Jeep for a dog, if so what kind worked for you?
I am looking to find one that will serve dual roles one keep my pup safe and when she is not riding with me be able to secure stuff in the back, so as to keep honest people honest.
Sorry to ramble on but thanks for any help.
Hello Lelend: I don't have a Jeep Wrangler, but did crate my GSD in the back of a BMW X5 and also and Audi wagon when he was a pup up to about 1 year old. For both cars we used a standard airline travel approved crate appropriate for his size. Now that he is full size, he is in a 550 and I don't crate him in the back anymore. We also have a friend who uses a soft crate (portable) for his dog in the car. And, I have a neighbor who has a soft-top Jeep Wrangler and does not crate his dobe when in the car. So, I think you need to make the selection based on what your goals are - if it is safety/security for the dog with top on or off, then you should go for a standard crate, either plastic or the metal ones; or if it is only for confinement and sense of containtment when driving, then you could opt for a portable/soft sided crate. Hope that helps!
