I need some advice on the following. My 14 week old pup has been very excitable since I got him. When someone comes to visit and we meet them outside he urinates. When we are out and someone comes up he does it, etc. He will jump up on them (I'm not yet teaching him differently) be very excited and happy to see them, but he does it.
He has been pretty good in the house - but still makes some mistakes.
When I got my pup at 12 weeks, I noticed he would urinate whenever he gets excited. My pup is about 5 months old now and I notice theres less urination when he is excited (still happens but less pee comes out). I am pretty sure its something he will outgrow.
Btw do you have any problems w/ your pup eating his own feces?
They will outgrow it but meanwhile you can help a bit to reduce it. If you don't respond as much and show less excitement the pup will also reduce it's excitement and it will be less urinating. Even if you are really happy to see it try to show less excitement.
