On one hand, while raising a puppy or any dog, we want to become the "center of their universe". On the other hand, for a good protection dog, we dont want a dog who looks to the handler too much.
I can see this in my minds eye; having a pup that you just live with/enjoy, not train, just mold to your lifestyle and training style while building a relationship which will make the heavy duty training much easier. But Im interested in a little more technical discussion of how to do this.
There is a difference between a dog seeing good things come from the handler, and a dog not wanting to do things without first checking with the handler.
