We are currently forming a new DVG club in the Alpharetta, (Milton) Georgia vicinity. We have experienced helpers and a great training site with fenced and un-fenced areas as well as a full-service clubhouse with heat/ac, bathroom and kitchen. We are excited to meet new folks and are open to all breeds and experience levels.
go to http://www.wolfbrook.com to contact via email.
Looking forward to hearing from interested folks!

Wow. So, this is, among other things, a dog park?
Pay the membership fee, and gain access to the dog park?

Seems like a lot more than that, and a great concept. Lots of different activities and opportunities, both free choice and structured. Looks like you can choose how much and what kind of interaction you want your dog to have. And if it is a member’s only deal, then there is even more choice…
I would not be letting my dog run free in a “dog park” setting, but it looks as if there are many areas that would allow for distraction training and many other activities…Many don’t have access to agility equipment, sand hills, creeks, etc… And even more people are not comfortable training on their own. Looks like there are opportunities to do it at whatever level of help/supervision is needed.
I’d definitely check it out if it were MUCH closer to me! Great website as well. I would be curious how things work out…

Missed my edit time...
From their web site
Individuals who want to visit WolfBrook prior to commiting to a program may call and arrange to meet staff, tour facilities and ask questions. Since only evaluated dogs and handlers who are familiar with our policies are permitted off-leash or on-leash access to our community areas we ask that dogs be left at home until they have been evaluated by our staff. We have specific procedures for evaluating and transitioning new dogs and handlers. Please do not simply show up with a dog as this may disrupt the activities our members and staff are frequently involved in.
In order to facilitate the introduction of new people and dogs into our community, we preface all memberships with an evaluation and customized transition activities. Based on the results of our evaluation, we assist new dogs and handlers with specific introductory activities appropriate to their temperament and skills. The prescribed activities are designed to familiarize and educate, greatly reducing the risk involved in adapting to the new environment.
All transitioning members, dogs and owners, must demonstrate basic proficiency in active social situations before they gain off leash access to park areas. WolfBrook training staff is available, Wednesday from 7PM to 8:30PM and Saturday from 10AM to 11:30AM, to assist any dog and handler teams who may want help meeting transitioning standards for off leash access to activity areas. Gaining off leash access is not all about obedience skills. The safety and comfort level of transitioning dogs and handlers and existing members is often best served by a managed introduction of the unfamiliar parties.
It feels less dog park and way more structured...

It looks to me like someone advertising their business on the forum, without ever having posted anything else.
This isn't a club- this is a for-profit Corporation.
Their training philosphy discourages leash corrections, in fact, they discourage using a leash at all, except where required by law.
Most importantly, their bios on their site fail to list any *actual* memberships, titles or official experience.

All true comments.
Still sounds like a great concept that I would be interested in looking into.
FWIW, I too try to use a leash in training as little as possible... I see little wrong with that point...
And to the OP, Alyssa makes good points about your credentials. You list many accomplishments, all to be commended, but dates and "official" info would be a great idea! I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt about being a new member here, and look forward to seeing some of your posts in the near future.

Mike's old place?
A beautiful field, although I haven't been on it in 15 years now.
Glad to hear that another DVG club is forming within an easy drive from our club.
And Atlanta really needed a DVG club.
We're looking forward to your first trial!

A few of us from GASA would go over there every so often when I lived in Atlanta, and Mike would be there.
He was sort of dropping out of SchH at that time and concentrating on other stuff so that kind of pettered out.
Again, it was a nice field for the area ( land in the Greater Atlanta region is *expensive*, so finding a good training field was tough )

Just a note from me, the original poster.
I am NOT advertising the business, the DVG club is not part of the Dog Club and Park. Actually, that is kind of the point for us. There are a few of our club members who are currently doing Schutzhund training with us on a private lesson kind of deal and we thought it would be more fun to start up a club again. We have spent the last few years working on the property (12 acres is alot of land to clear, grow grass, mow, fence and keep up) on our own and had no time to travel to train or compete. We are finally back in a position to spend time on the sport we love and have done on our own or with friends recently. I only put the business website in my original post because I have been warned not to post my email directly in a forum thread because I could be found by spammers.
At this point, the DVG club will probably use the park on the day we are closed and possibly one other day during the week. We have discussed using other places to train if it benefits members, but most are on the north side of town and want to work here so will work here unless things change.
As for credentials, what is listed on our website is for the benefit of the dog club, not really intended for Schutzhund folks. We are updating the site as we speak.
Regardless, I do believe it does say something about titles, but we didn't feel the need to list them since most of our "business" clients have no idea what Schutzhund is. Just as an FYI, Mike has raised many dogs from puppyhood and titled to SchH3. I have only gotten a SchHB, but am hoping to rectify that soon enough (when I get a new dog for ME to work, I just had to put my bitch to sleep and am not ready to rush into a new dog as yet).
I guess I should go remove the website from the op, but for the life of me I don't see an edit feature. I will figure it out though, sorry if we offended.
