Hi folks,I need some input on my new pups behavior.1st of all he's from good working czech lines and is almost 9 weeks old.So far he really goes for the sack attacks it like crazy, but once I let him win it he carries it off a little ways and humps it.Today for the 1st time while he was gripping it,feet set tugging back on it he started humping away.Is this typical or odd? Are his drive wires crossing because he's so young or what? I've owned females but this is my 1st male this young,so any info would be helpful, thanks.
I've heard of lots of dogs doing this it the people i've talked to say that it is to show dominace over the the rag to king of show that it is theirs I'm not 100% sure here but i've heard that many times
either that or you have a little perveart on your hands
Thanks Mike, and actually most of the time I do use a string and snatch it away, and thats when he started humping (while)gripping it.Now that I think about it,I think he started this behavior while doing a little counter on the sack, the little guy regrips really hard sets his feet and hunchs over trying to kill this sack, and from there it's become like a reflex action. It's really funny to watch this lil pup biting hard as he can with a mouth full of burlap humping away.Anyone ever seen this before, anymore suggestions?
I meant to add that my dog did the exact same thing when we had him in house as a puppy. He would bite down & try to screw one of the pillows on the couch, lol. Silly dog But it all stopped after a short while. I wouldn't worry about it at all, this sounds like a nice pup. I would just keep movement in the sack so he has no time to stop & hump. Keep it alive so that he stays interested in the game.
