Ok so we have moved resently. And we are now in a normal neighborhood again.
So I have started biking with phoenix and my new foster.

We bike about 2 miles I wouls say mabye a little less.
Its on concrete I really don't have anywhere else except the beach but in the summer that is not a great option.
We do it at 6 30 every morning. Befor light so the concrete is not hot.
Now my question is is this to much they seem to handle it well. We have worked up to this point over the past 2 weeks we also go to the park in the evening.
So they get a lot in my book but mabye not.
I'm not super informed on puppies/young dogs, so I may be wrong. With that said, no it's not too much. When my 9yr old has a LOT of energy we bike about 4 miles. He runs 1-2 of the miles and just trots for most of it (so it's not much of a workout for me). I like it because it's at a faster pace than walking, and some days I don't feel like running. He regulates himself, slows down when he needs to, picks up the pace when he wants. It's nice to bring him on errands (he LOVES the bank where he can visit everyone and get pets/treats)
The one thing I do worry about is him running on such a hard surface. I hate that this is the only option, unless I drive my bike (and dog) elsewhere.
When running your dog on concrete (I have heard that you should wait until age 2 years to do this, but not sure). You need to check their paws and claws often.
My friend used to bike with my highest energy dog. He would ride on the cement path and the dog was encouraged to run on the grass beside it. If you have sidewalks or a street, maybe you could use a leash long enough that the dogs could run on the lawns.
