Well today I am going to pick out my female GSD, I hope its all I am looking for. I have two questions,
A. What about kennelling a male and female side by side? when she is older of course, I am NOT going to make the mistake again of having a doggy universe controlling me.
B. What about teaching good stranger/bad stranger when she is in front yard? I dont want her to bark at every passerby which will be lots where i live.

It depends what your planning for your GSD (female) My female GSD I was told wouldn't ever do Schutzhund so I was going SAR with her untill I started training her and my trainer seen how far I came with her and seen she could go SchH. She was housed next to a male.

I saw the pup today, the one I liked probaby wouldn't make it in Schutzhund. I saw one that would but I dont want black again. I am going to think about it over night. The best pup was a male, the only male in the litter. I have a male siberian I dont think it will work.

If you pick the male just keep then separated for sure. And then agian what's the GSD for? Personal or Schutzhund or SAR or ? JGI> I'm takeing my girl to SchH3 when I was told in the begining she wouldn't make a police dog. "Never give up!"

The dog is for schutzhund, competition obediance and friend. I really want this dog to play with my male siberian. He is so lonely. I could keep them separated for feeding but not for housing, the kennel i have now is 10x10 so I could split it in two but would be next to eachother. So might have that fence fighting...My Sibe is an alpha male. I really feel a female is best. I have a female boxer over right now and they are playing so well, compared to when my brotehr brings his rottie and they just fight after 15min.

If you know your current dog sometimes has issues with other males, I wouldn't even think of adding another male to your household. Particularly if one of your intents of getting another dog is so the 2 can spend time and play together.
B. What about teaching good stranger/bad stranger when she is in front yard? I dont want her to bark at every passerby which will be lots where i live. If your dog is never outside unless you are. And when you are out you are working and training her and telling her NOT to continue barking, then the TRAINING you put in will make sure she doesn't bark at everyone. If, instead, you leave her out in the yard without you, then she probably will become a problem barker because she won't know friend from foe, and 'heck' barking is great fun!
And as far as color goes for a pup. That is so amazingly low on my priority list for a new dog. Once I find a breeder with the philosophy I have for their dogs (a search in itself) who breeds dog with the health I want, and temperment I need, than I would take the pup that would fit into my household and future training plans. And if it was the 'right' color, that would just be a bonus.

I have never met a good stranger, does that make me cynical????
If you are looking for a dog for Schutzhund, why are you looking at a litter that has puppies that probably won't do it? Schutzhund is the minumum requirement for the standard ( Max paraphrased, not my words). Look at other litters, I can tell you from experience that settling will bite you square in the rear pocket.
Where are you, geographically speaking? There are decades of experience here, let them help you.

I am in Portland, Oregon. Well the lady told me she had pups that went into K9 work. And they were nearby so I thought I would check them out. Very nice woman, clean kennels. I decided not to get one of her dogs though, they didn't have what I was looking for in one pup, each one had a characteristic I wanted but not all together. I decided I need to order some more of Leerburgs videos and practice more with my current dog before I get another puppy, but I am shopping, looking around for a good breeder. I want to see the pups in person before I purchase it. I need a dog that will work with me as I am novice to schutzhund. One of her older pups owners came by with his dog, a 4 month old or maybe 5 months. He was friendly and happy but after a demonstration of what he had learned, I could see he was an eager student and was able to perform the few things he had been taught already.

you need to work with a breeder who evaulates the puppies every day. YOu need to communicate with that breeder what your expecations are, and how the pup will be raised. You cannot ascertain the total character and potential of a puppy in one short visit, or even a couple of short visits. Your statements seem to say that have not trained a dog in schutzhund before, even experienced people do not always pick the most likely to succeed!! I do not beilieve in letting someone walk in and pick a puppy out of a litter of pups that I have spent hundreds of hours with over an 8 week period..they cannot possibly see enough in a hour or even two.
I have to sympathize with a color preference, to some extent - I did not have a certain color in my last litter, and probably could have sold a half dozen pups if I had had 'the right color'!! LOL the people who took their pups of the wrong color are very pleased from what I hear though! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I totally agree with Lee here.. pups change so much in the 8 weeks... people can't possibly see what is in a pup in a visit. I have a litter here now.. they are almost 7 weeks ..and they are still changing! I will pick the pups for the new owners.. if I have a couple that I think will fit their needs.. I will let them choose from those. You need to find a breeder who you can trust to "know" their pups.. so they can fit the best one for you..
