just a note, i have a friend who is gluten-intolerant, though not celiac - she doesn't eat pre-made buckwheat products like buckwheat pasta (i think buckwheat is a fruit or something - it's not a grain as far as i know), not b/c it contains gluten, which it doesn't, but b/c they can be mixed with flour sometimes and still cause reactions. that probably wouldn't be a problem for the flour though, just throwing it out there.

Like with oats and oat flour and other similar items, you can now find many products with this emblazoned on the front: "Guaranteed free of gluten."
This gluten "contamination" is largely a result of the gluten that can enter the process when wheat and other gluten grains are processed on the same equipment as no-gluten products.
Now that so many folks are looking for gluten-free products, it has become worthwhile to have separate processing lines and/or thorough cleaning between runs.

I made the recipe this morning, and it was a cinch.
The amount of flour needed was tiny. "Small handful" was actually "very small handful," or only enough to bind the ingredients.
I made tiny marker rewards by just dropping the mixture by the teaspoon on the sprayed baking sheet.
I will definitely make these for our training clubs' holiday gatherings.
I don't care if it seems silly. I have cringed in past years as I watched folks sneak bites of desserts, nuts, date breads, and other not-so-great treats to their dogs during holiday festivities. I am going to love having this just-for-the-dogs offering on hand!
Nothing bad in them, and the smell of them in the oven had my dogs bouncing around and guarding the stove like it had bacon on it!
I actually ordered more http://leerburg.com/force.htm (which I always keep on hand for travel, for variety, and for empty-freezer syndrome) so I'd have plenty for more batches.
Buckwheat is a pseudocereal...not related to other grasses or grains...fountain of useless information arent I !!!
